RESEARCH ARTICLES

Şırnak University Journal of Divinity Faculty aims to contribute to the studies in the field of theology in Turkey. In this context, our journal aims to publish research articles on the field of religious studies (Social Sciences and Humanities/Religious Sciences), translation articles, case reports, book reviews, and symposium evaluations. The publication of scientific studies in these fields will contribute to the universality of science and facilitate the accessibility of information. For this reason, the ultimate goal of our journal is to convey the information produced on behalf of science to society in a free manner and to reinforce the universality of science.

Şırnak University Journal of Divinity Faculty publishes articles in the fields of Theology, Education, Religious Sciences, Philosophy, History, and Literature as well as in the fields of Social Sciences and Humanities. In this context, our journal includes not only the works that are given on religious sciences but also scientific publications in the fields that have common or close grounds with the religious sciences. In this respect, although our journal is centered on religious sciences, it has a multidisciplinary and interdisciplinary structure. The multidisciplinary/interdisciplinary nature of the journal is a quality required by the multidimensional structure of social phenomena and processes. In other words, since the nature of the studies on social sciences and humanities and religious sciences has a multi-dimensional structure, our journal has adopted a breadth of scope to cover more than one discipline.

Our journal is based on ISNAD-footnote citation system (source format, titles, abstract, keywords, etc.) as a writing article. The articles should Turkish abstract between 450-500 words and the English version of this abstract, keywords between 5-8 words. The articles should be prepared in accordance with this format and sent via the link "Submit Article" on the main page of the journal. Articles that are not suitable for ISNAD (2nd edition) citation system are not taken into consideration. For ISNAD citation system, see. https://www.isnadsistemi.org/. Authors are required to fill in and sign the Copyright Form at the application stage and upload it to the system. For translation articles, permission should be obtained from the publisher of the article. 


In addition, the following rules must be observed in writing format.

Articles organized according to these formal specifications should not exceed 8000 words.(English and Turkısh abstract and references sections is also included in this page limit).

Titles
Only the first letters of the words that make up the title should be capitalized, prepositions and conjunctions in the title should be written in lower case. In addition, titles should be written in bold and not in italics (except for book titles and special cases).

A. Ethical Principles


The publication process at Şırnak University Journal of Divinity Faculty (SUJODF) is the basis of the improvement and dissemination of information objectively and respectfully. Therefore, the procedures in this process improve the quality of the studies. Peer-reviewed studies are the ones that support and materialize the scientific method. At this point, it is of utmost importance that all parties included in the publication process (authors, readers and researchers, publisher, reviewers and editors) comply with the standards of ethical considerations.In the scientific articles sent to Şırnak University Journal of Divinity Faculty, the international standards determined by the COPE (Committee on Publication Ethics) for the Editors and the Authors are respected.

Şırnak University Journal of Divinity Faculty expects all parties to hold the following ethical responsibilities.

For articles sent to Şırnak University Journal of Divinity Faculty;

All kinds of research conducted with qualitative or quantitative approaches that require data collection from participants using survey, interview, focus group work, observation, experiment, interview techniques,
· In case of using humans and animals (including material / data) for experimental or other scientific purposes,
· Clinical researches on humans,
· Researches on animals,
· For retrospective studies in accordance with the Law on Protection of Personal Data
Ethics Committee permission must be obtained.

Also;

· In the case reports, it is stated that “Informed consent form” has been taken
· Obtaining and specifying the permission of the owners for the use of scales, surveys and photographs belonging to others,
· It should be noted that copyright regulations are observed for the ideas and works of art used.


In addition, for translation articles, permission is required from the publisher or author of the article.

The publication of an article in a peer-reviewed journal is an essential building block in the development of a coherent and respected network of knowledge. It is a direct reflection of the quality of the work of the authors and the institutions that support them. Peer-reviewed articles support and embody the scientific method. It is therefore important to agree upon standards of expected ethical behavior for all parties involved in the act of publishing: the author, the journal editor, the peer reviewer, and the publisher.



1. Publication and authorship:


· List of references, financial support;

· No plagiarism, no fraudulent data;

· Forbidden to publish same research in more than one journal.



2. Author’s responsibilities:


· Authors obliged to participate in peer review process;

· All authors have significantly contributed to the research;

· Statement that all data in article are real and authentic;

· All authors are obliged to provide retractions or corrections of mistakes.



3. Peer review / responsibility for the reviewers:


· Judgments should be objective;

· Reviewers should have no conflict of interest with respect to the research, the authors and/or the research funders;

· Reviewers should point out relevant published work which is not yet cited;

· Reviewed articles should be treated confidentially.



4. Editorial responsibilities:


· Editors have complete responsibility and authority to reject/accept an article;

· Editors should have no conflict of interest with respect to articles they reject/accept;

· Only accept a paper when reasonably certain;

· When errors are found, promote publication of correction or retraction;

· Preserve anonymity of reviewers.

· No plagiarism, no fraudulent data.



5. Publishing ethics issues


· Monitoring/safeguarding publishing ethics by editorial board;

· Guidelines for retracting articles;

· Maintain the integrity of the academic record;

· Preclude business needs from compromising intellectual and ethical standards;

· Always be willing to publish corrections, clarifications, retractions and apologies when needed.


Duties of the Publisher

Şırnak University Journal of Divinity Faculty is committed to ensuring that commercial revenue has no impact or influence on editorial decisions. In addition, SUJODF will assist in communications with other journals and/or publishers where this is useful to editors. Finally, we are working closely with other publishers and industry associations to set standards for best practices on ethical matters, errors and retractions–and are prepared to provide specialized legal review and counsel if necessary.


Plagiarism Detection

Şırnak University Journal of Divinity Faculty uses double-blind review fulfilled by at least two reviewers. In addition, all articles are checked by means of a program in order to confirm they are not published before and avoid plagiarism.

The peer review process is at the heart of the success of scientific publishing. As part of our commitment to the protection and enhancement of the peer review process, SUJODF has an obligation to assist the scientific community in all aspects of publishing ethics, especially in cases of (suspected) duplicate submission or plagiarism.

When a reader discovers a significant error or inaccuracy in a paper published in Şırnak University Journal of Divinity Faculty or have any other complaint about editorial content (plagiarism, duplicate papers, etc.), he/she should make a complaint by e-mail to: suifdergi@gmail.com. We welcome complaints as they provide an opportunity for improvement, and we aim to respond quickly and constructively.


B. Publication Policy


1. Publisher

Şırnak University Journal of Divinity Faculty (SUJODF) is published by Şırnak University, Faculty of Theology, Şırnak/Turkey.

2. Scope

Şırnak University Journal of Divinity Faculty publishes academic articles that produced in the area of Religious Studies.

Basic Islamic Sciences: Tafsir, Kalam, Hadith, Islamic Law, History of Islamic Sects, Sufism, Arabic Language and Literature.

Philosophy and Religious Sciences: Philosophy of Islam, Philosophy of Religion, Psychology of Religion, Sociology of Religion, Religious Education, History of Religions, Logic.

Islamic History and Arts: History of Islam, History of Islamic Arts, Turkish Islamic Literature, Religious Music.


In each issue of the journal, it has been adopted as a principle that the number of articles accepted for publication from the above fields should be equal.

3. Period

Şırnak University Journal of Divinity Faculty is a double-sided, blind peer-reviewed academic journal, which is published in electronic format (online) as biannually (15 June and 15 December).


4. Review of Articles

Articles submitted to Şırnak University Journal of Divinity Faculty are first reviewed by the Editorial Board in terms of the journal's publishing principles. See https://dergipark.org.tr/en/pub/sirnakifd/writing-rules

Those found unsuitable are returned to their authors for revision.

Academic objectivity and scientific quality (suitability with social science methodology, discussion-based studies based on problematics, original idea / comment / analysis) are considered as the paramount importance.


Submissions found suitable are referred to two referees working in relevant fields. The names of the referees are kept confidential. If one of the referee reports is positive and the other is negative, the article may be forwarded to a third referee for further assessment or alternatively, the Editorial Board may make a final decision based on the nature of the two reports. The authors are responsible for revising their articles in line with the criticism and suggestions made by the referees and the Editorial Board. If they disagree with any issues, they may make an objection by providing clearly-stated reasons. Submissions which are not accepted for publication are not returned to their authors.

5. Language of Publication

The language of Şırnak University Journal of Divinity Faculty is Turkish as spoken in Turkey. However, each issue may include articles in English or in Arabic as long as the number of these do not exceed one-third of the total number of articles in the issue.

Arabic articles must also include Turkish and English titles and abstracts, and a bibliography using the Latin Alphabet.

6. Citation and Reference System

Şırnak University Journal of Divinity Faculty requires writers to use Isnad Citation Style.


7. Plagiarism Policy

For articles sent to Şırnak University Journal of Divinity Faculty;

9. Open Access Policy

This journal provides immediate open access to its content on the principle that making research freely available to the public supports a greater global exchange of knowledge.

For non-commercial purposes, lets others distribute and copy the article, and to include in a collective work (such as an anthology), as long as they credit the author(s) and provided they do not alter or modify the article.


10. Processing Charges

Şırnak University Journal of Divinity Faculty does not charge any article submission and processing charges from the authors.

11. Copyright

We request that authors transfer (assign) the copyright in their articles to Şırnak University Journal of Divinity Faculty before publication. This ensures that we have the right to work with, reproduce and to make your article available to readers. This is the case whether you have chosen to publish on a subscription-only or on a gold open access basis. Following the submission of your article, we will ask you to electronically submit an Assignment of Copyright form. The assignment of copyright in your article is effective only from the date on which the article is accepted for publication. If you withdraw your article, or if it is not accepted, the transfer does not take effect.

The main features of the copyright assignment are that:

authors transfer the worldwide copyright in their work to SUJODF Publishing in all formats and media;

authors assert their moral right to be identified as the authors of the article;

provision is made for situations where copyright is owned by an author’s employer as well as for government employees; in the case of multi-author articles, only one author should submit the form but he or she should have obtained the verbal agreement of all the other authors beforehand.

As well as addressing matters of copyright, the form contains assertions that all authors have received the final version of the article, have agreed to it being submitted and that the content of the paper is not defamatory, fabricated or an infringement of third-party rights.


12. Preparation and Submissions

Submission to this journal proceeds totally online, via http://dergipark.gov.tr/journal/628/submission/start

Submissions to Şırnak University Journal of Divinity Faculty should be original articles evaluating previous studies in the field and should produce new and worthwhile ideas and perspectives.

The length of the manuscript should not exceed 30 pages (including references, tables and figures).

Divide your article into clearly defined and numbered sections. Subsections should be numbered 1.1 (then 1.1.1, 1.1.2, ...), 1.2, etc. (the abstract is not included in section numbering). Use this numbering also for internal cross-referencing: do not just refer to 'the text'. Any subsection may be given a brief heading. Each heading should appear on its own separate line.

State the objectives of the work and provide an adequate background, avoiding a detailed literature survey or a summary of the results.

Results should be clear and concise.

An article to be published in Şırnak University Journal of Divinity Faculty should not have been previously published or accepted for publication elsewhere.

A maximum of two works by the same author (provided that they are from different publication types) can be published in a single issue. It is essential not to publish articles by the same author in consecutive issues of the journal.

Papers presented in a scientific meeting before, can be accepted provided that this situation is clearly stated and the full texts have not been published.

Articles produced from the master's thesis are not accepted for publication. The articles produced from the doctoral thesis can be accepted for publication in limited numbers and with the name of the student being the first author.



Şırnak University Journal of Divinity Faculty does not charge any fee from the authors for the article evaluation and publication process.
